punto Bones

Marrow Bones are generally thick bone with a marrow center varying between 2 to 4 inches. Most people give them as treats to exercise jaw muscles, clean teeth and for nutritional value.

Aren’t there risks?
Yes. There are risks as with everything. Many articles boast how only cooked bones are dangerous and raw bones are completely safe. It is not completely true. Of course cooked bones are definitely more dangerous as they splinter. Raw bones are softer therefore easier to chew and digest. I know many people that feed and have fed raw bones for over 20 yrs, including chicken bones.  Everything that goes into your dog’s mouth has a risk (including Kibble as we have learned). Bones should never be left with your dog unattended; they should always be thrown away not left to be buried. They should be too big to fit in your dog’s mouth so no swallowing can occur. Stick with thick walled smooth bones.
